The Yacht
Club, located on Portage Bay, asked Sortun-Vos to design and
coordinate an extensive remodeling. While the building was
restricted from expanding beyond a few feet because it is
in a residential zone, it needed more accessibility, and more
current systems and amenities.
The entry was changed from street side
at the upper level to water side at the lower level. An elevator
was added and the new entry features a display case of trophies
and memorabilia, a sweeping, curved stairway, and a compass
inlaid in the floor.
