Fishing Kyuquot

Sortun·Vos Architects was asked to design a new fishing lodge for ‘Fishing Kyuquot’ on a remote site in Walters Cove, Kyuquot Sound, on the northwest coast of Vancouver Island. While respecting the existing building vernacular of the surrounding community a warm intimate lodge was created which provides cozy sleeping rooms, comfortable lodge with surrounding decks, and private apartments on the upper level, all with views of the Cove.

Up before dawn, out catching large Salmon, Halibut, & Ling Cod then return to the lodge for sumptuous meals served from fully equipped Kitchen, and stories on the deck and in the spacious living room area about the big ones that got away...
