Situated on a small lot overlooking a park and Lake Waconia near Minneapolis St. Paul, the program called for a 3 bedroom home, of about 3,000 sf living space on two levels.

The main floor has all the amenities for living with level access to the car. The lower level is designed for extended family and lakeside entertainment.

The Owner, a contractor was confident the challenges of building on the sloped property could be dealt with but didn't fully realize the impact of strict shoreline setbacks.

In guiding the permit process, Sortun•Vos secured variances reducing the front and side yard setbacks.

The street presence has a modest feel and the lake side facades more dynamic in appearance. A simple hip roof rising to the northeast allow dramatic views of the lake.
